Bucket List

There are many things I wish to have done before I kick the bucket eventually, and as I went through a mental list in my head, I realised that most of the items involved travelling of some sort.  Guess it’s true after all, that I live to travel.

So here’s my list, which I will eventually put up as a page of its own for tracking purposes.  I will also update the list as and when applicable.

  1. Visit Germany’s famous Christmas markets and spend a white Christmas in Europe. completed in Dec 2011 – Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Munich and Salzburg’s Christmas markets were visited before Christmas 2011.
  2. Attempt to travel alone. completed in Oct 2011. the experience was rather liberating and not as scary as I thought it would be!
  3. Pick up Japanese Language again.  completed in Jan 2011.  took me a whole decade to act on this.
  4. Attain at least a proficiency of N3 in Japanese.
  5. Be reasonably good in skiing to handle intermediate slopes at ski resorts.
  6. Pick up the Korean Language.  started the elementary course in Feb 2012.
  7. Travel on the Trans-Siberian Express from Moscow to Mongolia.
  8. Complete my ‘Two Girls at Piano‘ cross-stich.
  9. Attain at least a proficiency of Grade 5 in violin-playing.
  10. Visit Cinque Terre.  completed in Oct 2009.  awesomely beautiful place!
  11. Re-challenge the blue path of Cinque Terre.
  12. Visit Tibet, especially Potala Palace.
  13. See the Aurora Borealis.
  14. Swim with dolphins in the ocean.
  15. Read Jane Austen’s complete works.
  16. Read Shakespeare’s complete works.
  17. Watch Les Miserables the musical once more.
  18. Own a Franck Muller from the CINTRÉE CURVEX collection.
  19. Play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata Movements 1-3.
  20. Visit Mozart’s birthplace – Salzburg. completed in Dec 2011. totally love this favourite composer of mine.
  21. Sit on a gondola and be serenaded to in Venice.  completed in Apr 2005.  it was raining and at certain parts of the route, it smelled like the sewers!
  22. Revisit Venice during our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
  23. Be at New York Times Square on New Year’s Eve.
  24. Visit Santorini, Greece.
  25. Visit Nagoya, Takayama and Shirakawago during winter.
  26. Read Charles Dickens’ complete works.
  27. Bring the parents on a grand tour of Europe.  Or Japan, whichever their preference might be.
  28. Watch Oberammergau’s Passion Play in 2020.
